Sharing the cost of Austerity

The political blame culture, ever present in our country, is beginning to wane away with all political parties now agreeing that Public Sector cuts have to be delivered, Labour for instance have said that public sector cuts would not be reversed should they gain power and it seems obvious to all that other European Countries have to bite the bullet and follow suit.

We must also ensure that such austerity measures are equally reflected by our banking sector and that fat cat bonuses, particularly in our publicly owned banks, are diminished amidst a call for responsible action across all sectors to tackle our National Debt .

Public sector cuts will however change the way we deliver public services across Wales and the UK , we will have to work with the finances we have available to us more smartly and more efficiently.

To this end North Wales Police Force are reviewing their estates strategy and are currently carrying out public consultation with County Councils and Communities in an attempt to streamline their buildings portfolio some buildings may go but the important issue is that we retain a presence from our local community officers.

The Future

I believe that I have worked as hard as humanely possible to address the issues brought to my attention by my residents and will continue to work hard on their behalf should I be re-elected in May.

I love this Town and our County and I am equally  confident that we can achieve great things if given the chance, I want to be part of the process of creating positive change and a better future for our residents, I believe we have made a good start but need longer to turn our regeneration aspirations into reality.

Rhyl High School

As a past and present Governor, parent of three children educated at Rhyl High School I am one of the schools biggest supporters.

I have campaigned long and hard for a new school build and I am delighted that we have at last been successful in gaining funding towards a new school development, however the time scales are unknown at present and I will work hard to achieve the best possible starting date.

Village Green Application Parc View Estate

Village Green

As both a proud Parc View resident and local Cllr, I have worked hard on behalf of the Parc View residents in support of their fight to gain Village green status for the Ffordd Elan plot of land. I have arranged a visit to a Village Green site in Wrexham and accompanied residents to a meeting with local campaigners in that area.

I have spoken at many planning meetings, and represented the views of residents at all levels speaking with officers and members, I have also arranged for officers to visit the site and discuss issues with residents including the head of planning and the Chief Executive.

Maen Gwyn

The issue over vehicular access from Rhodfa Maen Gwyn onto the Aberkinsey has been hopefully rectified through myself and other local member discussing options with planning officers and developers much to the satisfaction of local residents.
